Sydney graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2014. After working in joint replacement rehabilitation for several years, she went back to school to complete the Prosthetic and Orthotic program at British Columbia Institute of Technology, graduating with distinction in 2018. In addition to the training she received at BCIT, Sydney has completed a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Science through McMaster University, graduating in 2018. She joined the Lethbridge Orthotics team in 2018 and became a Certified Orthotist in 2020.
Sydney has a keen interest in adaptive outdoor activities, and has volunteered her time teaching adaptive skiing through the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing (CADS). She spends much of her free time in the mountains climbing, hiking and skiing.
